Founded in 1978, our legacy includes conserving over 40,000 acres and increasing access to public parklands. We bring people together to conserve, restore and care for our region’s natural beauty so that everyone can benefit from experiencing nature where they live.
The BVIC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency that has provided free services since 1971 to Monterey County residents who are visually impaired. Our mission is to encourage and inspire people who are blind or visually impaired to transcend the loss of sight as independent contributing members of society.
